Friday started out with a trip down memory lane to good old DeLand High School where everything had changed and we hardly recognized the huge campus and the new gymnasium! But, we did recognize each other (with a little help from the name tags) at the Tea and won the Spirit award at the Growl!

Captain Steve led us on a great parade ride through downtown DeLand. We looked stylish in our Bulldog Pirate shirts (designed by Debbie Beach Malmborg) flying our pirate flag! We were driven by the future Mayor of DeLand (supplied by Mike Cateriny) who drove us back through barricades and bargained his way with the police to let us go on. It was a grand time for all who participated!
Rest & Relaxation before the Game
Some of us had to rest before we had the energy to go the game. Since we missed our nap time, sitting on Jane's dock was the best we could do! We signed a t-shirt for our AWOL President, Pam, and managed to set Jane adrift! It was a hard decision to get up and go down to the football stadium! There is nothing like spending time with old friends....literally, old........

Football Game & Airport Bar

Did football games seem this hot and this crowded 30 years ago? Were we that ridiculous looking as high schoolers? Certainly not us! We barely managed to find each other at the stadium since the school forgot to rope off sections, but we did enjoy the experience! The Bulldogs had their paws full with the Sandcrabs and the game did not go our way. We headed to the Airport Bar for a little quiet time (and yes, the bar was quieter than the game). The pictures get a little fuzzy at this point in the long day.........
What a night! We had quite an interesting evening with a DOGNAPPER in the midst, a non-working restroom and incredibly loud music! But, nothing stopped us from having a sensational time catching up with old friends. After 30 years, it really felt like it was just yesterday that we had all been together at DHS!
Here's hoping that we don't let these friendships end and we find a way to get together again soon!
